LEARNERSHIPS, SKILLS AND ARTISAN DEVELOPMENT by M. M. Mancotywa

24 October 2022

The college signed an MOA with ETDP SETA for the implementation of ECD L4 learnership in two districts, Jo’ Ggabi (Mount Fletcher) and Alfred Ndzo (Maluti) where 50 learners were contracted for this programme. The programme started towards the end of 2019 and was concluded in 2022. The programme was delayed by the pandemic however the college is proud to announce that in September there will be a graduation ceremony and amongst the graduands will be the ECD L4 practitioners that successfully completed learnership.

Decent working relations with WRSETA has produced good results when the College learners completed a learnership on Wholesale and Retail Operations in L2. In this programme we had 25 beneficiaries from Matatiele who were trained on Small Business Operations. The purpose was to equip unemployed youth with Business Skills that will enable them to become young entrepreneurs who will be capable of making a living utilising the skills obtained. These leaners have successfully completed their learnership training and are due for graduation and we can confirm that their certificates are already in our possession.

The college is proud to proclaim that WRSETA granted the college funding for a short skills programme on Wholesale and Retail Operations L2. The college conducted the training for 25 students for the short skills programme on Small Business Management L2 and Finance. the skill programme on Small Business was completed and learners are due for certification. Their graduation/certification will be hosted in partnership with NARYSEC as they are part of the agreement on this skills programme.

The College prides itself in addressing the skills shortage in our country through partnerships with SETAs and other partners.
