NGQUNGQUSHE CAMPUS AND SEDA COLLOCATION by P.S. Mgushelo

30 July 2024

A meeting regarding a collocation request from SEDA was held on June 29 2024, and involved the College Programme Qualification Mix Committee (PQM), the management team of Ngqungqushe Campus, representatives from OR Tambo Region, Alfred Ndzo Region, as well as a representative from Ingquza Hill Local Municipality.

The meeting's goal was to request the college to provide them housing on campus and establish a working partnership. They hope to collaborate with the College through this collocation to benefit the community and students. According to the Alfred Ndzo spokesperson, they were already collaborating with the college, particularly in Maluti. She further promised to involve Joe Gqabi Municipality.

SEDA committed to collaborating with the College to support the effort, given that the College intends to establish an incubator. A list of incubators they assist, including Walter Sisulu University and others, was also listed. They told the college that if they continued to work together, they would treat our clients as clients of their own, and our students would get priority when it came to receiving support for their enterprises both within and outside the college.

They also pledged to support our incubator by bringing in a variety of service providers with a range of expertise. They have previously sent the College a letter asking this collocation. Because they wish to be seen, SEDA will provide a wide range of activities. It was agreed that the college should submit their suggestion to the MOU before 05/08/2024 so that it can be added to the document. An MOA would be drafted a later stage after the MOU had been signed.

The Campus with the approval of the College Management is willing to offer office space as soon as the new buildings have been handed over to the College. This initiative seeks to ensure that the College has the full support of SEDA with the incubator.
